OUR STORY

SOS Web Services began 1996. At that stage the Internet was in its infancy and BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) the community that evolved to the Internet as we know it today. SOS was originally an electronic IT-related magazine written for the BBS community by our founder. The e-zine had its own reader program, SOSReader, and was downloaded and read by people all over the globe. At one stage it even held the award of the longest running e-zine in the world. From such a beginning we have been actively involved in the evolution of the Internet to where it is today and continue to be passionate about “All things Internet”

SOS has developed a special ethos of “small and personal is the right way”. We do not have thousands of customers and have never advertised. The majority of our customers have been with us from the beginning or have been referred to us from the existing base. We take our business very seriously as you, the customer, are our priority.

If we were to be asked to give a summary of what we can do for you, we’d say that regardless of size, we are the one-stop for anything IT-related you may need, whether it be for running your business connected to the internet via SOS ISP, sending emails or displaying your SOS-designed and hosted website to the world. This would all be done from either an Apple or Microsoft device supplied to you by us, while connected to SOS-installed local area networks and servers through switches, routers, wireless and cabling.

We will provide a quality solution with quality products, or nothing at all. We would rather refer business elsewhere than put our reputation and integrity at risk with cheap or incorrectly specified products. To this end we have aligned ourselves with various major brands that meet our standards for quality, support and availability.

SOS is also a Microsoft Authorised Education Partner and Reseller and we provide Academic Volume Licensing software to all Qualified Educational users. Speak to us about your requirements for either Open Value Subscription for Education Solutions (OVS-ES) 5 or more FTE or Enrolment for Education Solutions (ESS) in organisations with 1000+ FTE.

SOS a ZACR accredited registrar and will register and manage your domain names. We offer free transfer for any existing domain names to our servers.

OUR CUSTOMERS 

SOS deals primarily in the SME market but also has a medium sized base of individual and home users, as well as certain corporate accounts. For us it’s about service delivery and personal touch. Our customers are like minded and do not compare us to the cheaper high volume providers out there. We pride ourselves on having personal relationships with our customers, which allows us to anticipate their needs and suggest technologies that will benefit them.
